Pictures: Brussels beer tasting

For several years there have been many moves in the Brussels beer scène. Breweries, beer stores and specialised catering businesses are springing up like mushrooms from the ground. Next to Brasserie Cantillon, for decades the only Brussels brewery, there was suddenly starting up Brasserie de la Senne in Molenbeek and in recent years also Brussels Beer Project, En Stoemelings and Beerstorming rose up. And if we wait a bit the Stock Exchange will be transformed in a real beer temple!

High time we thought to taste some new Brussels beers like BBP Barrel Aged, Smokey Mc Smoke, Noirølles and Déu N’Hi Do!, because … “e goo verke mag alles”. 🙂

Pictures: visit EMABB museum + De Klem brewery

Our first activity of 2017 brought us to the Rupel region! First we visited the Ecomuseum and Archives of the Brick (Boom). A guide led us through the story of life, living and working in the Rupel region, past and present, with a common thread: the brick industry.

Then we went to De Klem brewery, where brewer Olivier Op De Beeck opened his doors for us, just two days after the official opening of the brewery, to inaugurate the Lambikstoempers in the affairs of the village brewery … obviously with the necessary degustations.

In short, our year has started well!

Pictures: Winter walk 2016

Traditionally the Lambikstoempers close their working year with a walk through the beautiful sloping landscape of the Pajottenland. This year, with start and end at the Church of Lieferinge.

Along the way we stopped for a fresh beer, a hotdog, a fresh beer, a “Swalleke”, a jenever … 😉
