Pictures: ‘Guess the barrel’ tasting

‘Barrel Aged’ is quite trendy in the beer world at the moment. We found out for you whether this really is an added value, on Saturday 11 June 2022 in room ‘Rainbow’ (Zennedal) in Buizingen, during our tasting ‘Guess the barrel’.

In a cozy setting we tasted 10 beers that have been aged in whiskey, port, calvados, red wine, sherry, genever or rum casks. Of course, as always, we tasted blind.

Also present: a reporter from Radio 2 Vlaams-Brabant, who made a nice report of our tasting for the Monday morning program ‘Start Je Dag’. And yes, even Don Bosco himself saw, heard and tasted(?) that it was – once again – good!

Pictures: Visiting St-Feuillien brewery

On Saturday 28th of May 2022, De Lambikstoempers paid another visit to Brasserie St-Feuillien in Le Rœulx. We had already been there once in 2007, but in the meantime a lot has changed and… improved in both camps!

Edwin Dedoncker, General Manager at Brasserie St-Feuillien S.A., welcomed us with pleasure and gave a short “exposé” in the “Grand Cru” room under the old brewery. This was followed by an extensive tour of the old brewery and the new one. And of course there was also time to taste, on the sun-drenched terrace of the brewery! You can clearly see from the photos below that it was – once again – in order…

Pictures: Occupation of ‘t Parlement 2022

On Sunday 15th of May 2022 – from 10 am to 6 pm – De Lambikstoempers once again occupied ‘t Parlement … in Halle! So no Mina & Frank behind the counter, but De Lambikstoempers … with a beer list of 10 (unknown?) beers from our own region, of low and high fermentation! (No spontaneous fermentation beers for once…)

The sun was shining (28°C!), the fridges were full, our terrace too … and the meat balls & cheese plates went smoothly over the counter. In short: it was another great edition of our annual event … which will certainly be continued next year!
