Brussels Beer Day

And we are also invited!
Under the motto ‘1 event, 2 beer tasting associations and 3 breweries = 1 big party!‘ 🙂

When?

On Saturday 25 June 2016.

  • Meeting place 1: Antwerp Central Station, the train of 9h40 at track 4 (IC train to Binche) – There will be someone with a fluorescent vest! Arrival at Brussels-Midi is scheduled for 10h32.
  • Meeting place 2: Brasserie Cantillon (Gheudestraat 56 at 1070 Anderlecht) at 10h45.

Schedule

  • 11h00: guided tour anf tasting in Brasserie Cantillon
  • 12h00-12h30: walk towards the Marolles
  • 13h00-13h30: visit to the Brewery “En Stoemelings” with tasting of their beers
  • 14h00-14h30: walk towards Brussels Centre
  • 15h00: visit to Brussels Beer Project with accompanying tasting
  • 17h00: end of the event, alyhough there still is the possibility to pass and stop at BrewDog Brussels. (If you like to go home at that time, you are of course free to go.)

Only possible through the website www.antwerpsbiercollege.be — members of the Lambikstoempers  have to add ‘LS’ in front of their name!
NOTE: The number of places is limited! Max. subscriptions = 30 people.

  • members of ABC/Lambikstoempers/Zythos= 10 euro
  • Non-members = 15 euro

Good to know

  • Bring your own lunch!
  • If you travel by train: buy your train ticket in time.
  • The distancies between the breweries will be done on foot. So wear appropriate footwear. Long live the exercise!  🙂

Tilquin English Beer Festival 2016

Next weekend – on Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 Mai 2016 – geuze blender Pierre Tilquin organises the  Tilquin English Beer Festival for the second time, with a selection of 13 most innovative British breweries + 1 extra guest from France, which answers to the same criteria.

Open doors day

On this occasion Pierre also opens his doors to the general public, who are welcome for a guided tour in the “Gueuzerie” and a free lambic!

Of course, he himself is also present at the festival, with the following beers:

  • Assemblage Tilquin (lambic)
  • Faro Tilquin
  • Gueuze Tilquin on draught
  • Oude Gueuze Tilquin
  • Oude Quetsche Tilquin (2 versions : with “Prunes de Namur” or with “Quetsches véritables d’Alsace”)
  • Oude Mûre Tilquin
  • Stout Rullquin

Practical details

Everyone is welcome at the Gueuzerie Tilquin (Chaussée Maïeur Habils 110 at 1430 Bierghes) on Saturday 30 April from 12h00 until 22h00 and Sunday 1 Mei from 11h00 until 21h00.

Start packages are 14 euro (entrance + glass + beer list + 4 tokens) and 25 euro (entrance + glass + beer list + 12 tokens). The entrance is valid for both days. All beers – in 15 cl tasting glass – cost 1 to 2 tokens. One token costs 1.50 euro.

For the hungry there will be food trucks. For the youth there is a bouncy castle. And for those who want to take a souvenir home: there is also a shop where both the British beers and the Tilquin products will be sold.

Reportedly, there even is a regular shuttle service between the station of Enghien and the Gueuzerie Tilquin at Bierghes. So … Untill then!

Beer, chocolat & chocolats, a lecture by Geroen Vansteenbrugge and Stijn Vanhoutte

Zytholog Geroen Vansteenbrugge, already active in the beer world since 1986, will introduce us, together with artisan chocolatier Stijn Vanhoutte, in the wonderful world of beer, chocolat en chocolats!

Belgium as the center of chocolat, chocolats and special beers. Did you ever wonder how all these have met? Coincidence? Impossible! There must be a similarity in taste. A kind of collective need in our taste registry, which ensures that these two totally different Belgian products not only flourish, but grow beyond themselves. An export product “par excellence”.

Geroen and Stijn bring us 5 excellent combinations with matching tastes between beer, origine chocolat and very fresh chocolats in a light harted way and tell us all about these top products.
A fascinating and also relaxing evening in two parts …

On Friday may 13 2016 at 19.45 uur in Café De Kring, Stevens Dewaelplein 15 at 1502 Lembeek.

Register

Participation costs 14 euro for the Lambikstoempers members, 16 euro for Zythos members and 18 euro for all others.

The number of seats is limited! Registration is therefore mandatory through proeverij@lambikstoempers.be, mentioning:

  • name and number of persons + indication of eventual membership (Lambikstoempers or Zythos)

You will than receive a mail with further instructions concerning your registration.
