19th DAY(S) OF THE OLD GUEUZE

This nineteenth edition will take place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June 2025, at the parking lot of the Streekproducten Centrum, Poststraat 3A in 1500 Halle. Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sunday from 2pm to 6pm.

Last year, more than 950 interested parties, including a large number of foreigners, found their way to the Streekproducten Centrum to (re)discover the diverse flavour flavours of lambic beers!

Once again, this year, we will provide an extensive sampling of beers of spontaneous fermentation! Beers from the following breweries / samplers will be available for tasting:

This year, visitors will also again have the chance to taste a real lambic, the basic brew of gueuze. We will provide at least three different lambics, supplied directly from the wooden barrels of the local lambic brewers. So we will also serve gueuze, kriek and other fruit lambics.

A little hungry? The Streekproducten Centrum is the place to go for a plate of cheese, sausages, “mattentaarten” and crisps. Soft drinks are also available here.

All beers are sold in 15cl tasting glasses. This should make it possible to taste several of these beers.

Entry to the Day(s) of the Old Geuze is FREE.

SCOOPS & TASTERS

As on previous editions, you can taste a number of special beers and firsts on the Day(s) of Oude Geuze. Among others, you can taste ‘Geuze Bourbon Cognac Barrel Aged’ and ‘Geuze Islay Whiskey Barrel Aged’ from Angerik, ‘Boon & Colruyt Special Family Blend’ from Boon, ‘Blauwe Pruim’ from De Cort, ‘Ziggy Sitar Dust Raga Geuze’ from Donder Brews, ‘Kriek Pajottegem’ from Lambiek Fabriek, ‘Bogaerden Black Geuze & Kriek’ from Sako, ‘Oude Geuze Whisky barrel Aged’ from Tilquin and so on.

For our now traditional ‘tasting board’, this year we chose to highlight Boerenerf from Huizingen: with lambic, ‘Oude Geuze 1871’, ‘Oude Geuze Heritage’, ‘Pineau des Charenets’ and ‘Mus’iek’. This tasting board was specially designed to enable visitors to order 5 glasses at a time and thus embark on a journey through a fascinating landscape of flavours!

Golden Lambikstoemper

The Lambikstoempers vzw want to put the lambic beers in the spotlight every year by awarding a Golden Lambikstoemper Award, a recognition to a catering establishment that pays attention to our wonderful lambic beers in the best possible way.

Last year it was decided not to award a Golden Lambikstoemper Award in 2024. After all, none of the proposed on-trade outlets met all the criteria and, like the previous winners, a Golden Lambikstoemper Award has to be 100% deserved.

But this year there is another winner! On the basis of an impressive list of horeca establishments and a number of criteria (which were drawn up after many hours of discussions) and after an anonymous site visit to the proposed establishments, De Lambikstoempers vzw will hand out the Golden Lambikstoemper Award on Sunday 15 June 2025 at 2.30 p.m. to the horeca establishment that, in their eyes, has paid the most attention to lambic beers in 2025.

Finally, on the Day(s) of the Oude Geuze, it is possible to purchase an exclusive gift box containing the 3 variants of our Cuvée Lambikstoemper at the price of €45.00.

The box contains three 75 cl bottles:

• Cuvée Lambikstoemper 2014, a collaboration with Boon Brewery
• Cuvée Lambikstoemper 2019, a collaboration with Lindemans Brewery
• Cuvée Lambikstoemper 2024, a collaboration with Timmermans Brewery

These three beers were respectively launched on the occasion of the 15th, 20th and 25th anniversary of De Lambikstoempers vzw. For the first time, there is the possibility to buy the three beers together. A unique opportunity for the beer lover!
